Welcome to Day 3 of "After God's Own Heart" Devotional!

Dear Friends,

As we continue our journey in this devotional, we are reminded that a heart after God is one that delights in His knowledge and commandments. Today, let us focus on the joy and fulfillment that come from immersing ourselves in God's Word and His divine wisdom.

In Proverbs 2:6-7 (NKJV), we read: "For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;"

These verses highlight the source of true wisdom and understanding – our Lord. He generously imparts knowledge to those who seek Him and stores up sound wisdom for the upright. His commandments are not burdensome but are meant to guide us and protect us as we walk in His ways.

Finding delight in God's Word is more than just reading; it involves meditating on His teachings and allowing them to transform our hearts and minds. It means seeing His commandments not as restrictions but as pathways to a deeper relationship with Him and a more abundant life.

Psalm 119:103 (NKJV) beautifully expresses this sentiment: "How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!"

As we reflect on this, let us examine how we engage with God's Word. Do we approach it with eagerness and joy, or do we find it challenging to connect with His teachings? Our response to His Word can reveal much about our heart posture and our desire to draw closer to Him.

Reflection Questions: In Proverbs 2:6-7, we are reminded of the importance of delighting in the knowledge of God and His commandments. Let's take a moment to reflect on our own heart posture. Please consider the following questions and select the option that best resonates with you:

Do you find delight in the knowledge of God and His commandments, as highlighted in Proverbs 2:6-7?

A) Yes, I find great joy and fulfillment in God's Word.

B) Sometimes, but I often struggle to find delight in it.

C) Rarely, I find it challenging to connect with God's Word.

D) No, I don't find delight in the knowledge of God.

Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts open to Your wisdom and guidance. Teach us to find delight in Your Word, to savor it as sweet nourishment for our souls. Help us to see Your commandments as expressions of Your love and care for us. May Your knowledge and understanding fill us with joy and lead us in the paths of righteousness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May this day be filled with a renewed love for God's Word and a deeper understanding of His infinite wisdom. Let us pursue His knowledge with joyful hearts, knowing that He is our shield and our guide.

With love and blessings,

Joy
